The academy experience contributes to student success, thus building confidence and empowering students to further their education and become contributing members of the global working community.

The academies (small schools within a school) are programs organized around a variety of academic/ career themes. Academies were designed and initiated as the result of a partnership between Lowell High School and the University of Massachusetts Lowell Project for School Progress in 1999 and have been further developed by the Smaller Learning Communities grant awarded in 2005.
